What We Can’t Wait For: The Rachel Zoe Project: Season 2

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

It’s bananas!

rachel zoe

How much I can’t wait for the Season 2 premiere of ‘The Rachel Zoe Project’ on Bravo – this Monday at 10pm – that’s what’s bananas.

From the Bravo website, here’s a summary of what we can expect from the new season:

The hottest stylist in Hollywood is back and offers an all access pass to fabulous fashion as The Rachel Zoe Project, returns Monday, August 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The second installment of this fashion-forward drama delves further into the inner workings of Team Zoe as they jet from coast to coast throwing charity auctions, attending store openings and laboring to find the perfect gowns to adorn the red carpet during award season. The new season includes some of the world’s most influential and respected designers including Giorgio Armani, John Galliano, Christian Lacroix, Karl Lagerfeld, Giambattista Valli, Diane Von Furstenberg and Matthew Williamson to name a few.

Rachel Zoe is as over-booked as ever and the constant tension between her hotheaded assistants, Brad and Taylor, only serves to escalate the drama in her already crazed schedule, leading to stress induced vertigo. The economic downturn presents yet another snag in the garment-hunting process and Team Zoe must get creative as the number of available couture gowns dwindle. There is never a dull moment as Rachel takes her team to Paris Fashion Week, continues to build her brand, and struggles to balance her personal life and spend time with her husband, Rodger.

I die.

Can you wait?  Are you excited?  Could you absolutely care less about what I’m blabbering on about?  Let me know!  In the comments, silly!!

Escada to File for Quasi-Bankruptcy

Escada 2009 - Peter Lindberg - 16

From Fashionologie:

Escada was considered one of the world’s premier fashion labels in the ’80s, but the German luxury label has since become downtrodden among design flops, weak sales for many seasons, and management upheavels.  Last month, the company’s chairman Bruno Saelze indicated that if the debt restructuring plan the company put forth to stockholders was not approved this month, the business would have to be dissolved.

A month later, Escada has failed to reach the required stockholder acceptance level for its bond exchange plan and is meeting today to discuss plans to file for insolvency. Under German law, planned insolvency is the closest procedure to bankruptcy, as the country does not have the equivalent of Chapter 11. Saelzer had wanted to avoid insolvency out of concern for the brand’s image, and tried to keep up appearances in the last month by releasing a Fall 2009 campaign with Eva Herzigova photographed by Peter Lindbergh and last week, images of the brand’s Spring 2010 collection.  The management was to meet today to discuss further steps. downtrodden among design flops, weak sales for many seasons, and management upheavels.  Last month, the company’s chairman Bruno Saelzer

Escada is not the only fashion house in financial troubles lately.  A few weeks ago, Christian Lacroix revealed that there was practically no money coming into the brand, and that the designer himself has been working for free for a long time.  While there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Lacroix, as a buyer has possibly come to the rescue, we can only hope that the same will be true for Escada.
