A Marvelous Morning with Lynn Dell

Hello, everyone!  Although it’s been over a year since our Countess of Glamour graced the pages of Ari Seth Cohen’s bestseller, Advanced Style, she has been attracting quite the A-list buzz from savvy fashionistas around the world.   After all, her knack for always having her finger on the pulse of what women want when it comes to their style is what prompted an adorable French blogger named Timai to reach out to Lynn in the hopes of snagging an interview.

Honored by the invitation, Lynn Dell immediately accepted her request and invited her to spend the morning in her glamorous appointment.  Making plans to fly from her hometown of Paris to New York City – where she’s been longing to live – Timai thought of this as a fantastic opportunity to meet the woman who successfully put fashion on the map on the Upper West Side with our shop, Off Broadway Boutique, over 50 years ago.

Upon meeting her on her doorstep that late June morning, The Countess of Glamour was tickled to see that fashionable femme looked to be no more than 16 years old soaking wet – especially after finding out that she was a mother of two with a full-time job outside of her blog, superbytimai.  Dressed in a Moroccan cotton outfit that is made exclusively by Off Broadway Boutique along with amazing Afghan jewelry that we also sell, it was the very look that she’d wear to Bette Midler’s play later that night.

Over the next few hours, Timai conducted a larger-than-life video interview that proudly displayed the fabulousness of Lynn Dell.  Regaling her with priceless bon mots about dressing for the theatre of one’s life, she epitomized one of her favorite sayings, “I am my own special creation” – the result being an inspiration in living her life and style to the fullest at 80 years old.  We can continue to discuss the many ways that The Countess of Glamour charmed yet another, but we believe that this enchanting video will explain it all!

Needless to say, it was a pleasant surprise to see that Timai’s article caught the attention of the blog of the French edition of Elle Magazine as well!

Lynn Dell – A Muse of All Seasons

Hello, everyone! We’ve made no secret about our affection for The Countess of Glamour, Lynn Dell, which is why it is always a pleasure to have her visit our lovely shop.  After all, she is a major source of style inspiration for both clients and staff – both of whom always look forward to seeing her in a uniquely marvelous look.  In addition, it is her vision that has steered Off Broadway Boutique on the right path of fashionable fabulousness for over 40 years!

Our newest fashion consultant, Tracy, certainly caught wind of this when she saw Lynn stroll in our shop in a gorgeous purple ensemble yesterday.  Immediately thinking of the purple fox fur and wool hooded neckpiece that she had seen in our vintage and consignment department earlier, she just knew that it’d be the perfect complement to her look.  Although Lynn hadn’t quite understood the hoopla about it, she immediately did an about-face once she realized just how luxurious and comfortable it looked and felt on her.

To say that the result was purely magical is an understatement, as that gorgeous piece is one out of many enchanting ones that can be found in our lovely vintage and consignment department. In once again living up to her well-earned reputation as The Countess of Glamour, Lynn managed to take everyone’s breath away while proving Tracy’s fashion-forward intuition correct.  Therefore, it was no surprise that Tracy made a glorious sale out of it by selling the originally $110 neckpiece to Lynn for 20% off while bringing it down to $83 plus tax.  What’s more, the stunning neckpiece served as yet another example why Off Broadway Boutique’s reruns and consignment department is such a source of exceptionally elegant fashions.  After all, Lynn has prided herself on always adding a little extra something to her style – a motto that has been duplicated in every single piece that she has chosen for Off Broadway Boutique’s diverse collection.

Off Broadway Boutique Customer Spotlight – Hallie Neill and Terry

Hi, everyone!  At Off Broadway Boutique, we have been blessed to have a diversity of clients that range from theatre divas to local fashion plates with plenty other personalities in between.  Not only do they contribute to making our boutique a fun place to shop, but they inspire us to present our stunning fashions exquisite jewelry.  This is certainly the case with two of our wonderful customers, who recently informed us that they’d worn our pieces to their special events.

When the divine operatic soprano, Hallie Neill, reached out to us on Facebook a few weeks ago, we were thrilled to see her in our gorgeous green cape during her performance in The Diva and the Baritone.  Looking every inch of the diva that she is, she was a vivacious vision onstage as she wowed the crowd along with her husband, the fantastic Theodore Lambrinos.  What’s more; she wore our cape with such pizzazz that we’re sure that the audience fell in love with her style as much as they did with her voice – as you can see in this video.

Vintage style blogger, MaryLenore Arsenault, also contacted us on Facebook a few days ago to inform us of our suave brocade jacket making an appearance at a monthly dance party that she had attended with her date, Terry.  According to her blog, Moss Park Fashionistas, he was the sartorial champion of the night – no surprise, considering that the vintage inspired velvet-trimmed piece is one of the crown jewels in our Off Broadway Boutique reruns department.  Visit our shop for more one-of-a-kind vintage pieces that will make as much a lasting impression as Terry did at that fun party.

One of our biggest sources of pride at Off Broadway Boutique is welcoming a variety of customers, as they each appreciate the eclectic style and lavish glamour that we have to offer.  What’s more, they are the main reason why we have been an Upper West Side style institution for over forty years.  It is with that that we dedicate this blog to two of the most fashionable clients that we have had the pleasure of being of service to – Hallie Neill and Terry.
