Chatting about Halloween Style with The Countess of Glamour

Hello, everyone!  Halloween was quite a stylish affair this year, as our Countess of Glamour, Lynn Dell, was tapped to be on the HuffPost Live style panel to weigh on this year’s crop of costumed celebrities. Joining her was her best friend who’d flown in from Mexico, Lucille Chayt, as well as the extremely talented Debra Rapoport, who were pleased to reunite with the always lovely host, Caitlyn Becker.

Setting the jovial mood of the holiday, Lynn Dell chose to wear our Off Broadway Boutique black petit pois top along with our glamorous cascading pearl necklace, rings, and Kenneth Jay Lane earrings with a jaunty fascinator hat to complete her Grande dame look. Not to be outdone, Lucille wore one of our classic long necklaces to complement her fabulous fall look, while Caitlyn proudly donned the dazzling eye mask that Lynn Dell brought for her from our shop.

After pleasantries and complements were exchanged, the ladies launched into their celebrity style critiques, lacing them with plenty of wit and wisdom:

  • On Matt Lauer as Pamela Anderson: “I love it!” – Lynn Dell
  • On Miley Cyrus as L’il Kim: “Let her do it. It’s a fun time.” – Lynn Dell
  • On Paris Hilton as Miley Cyrus: “She never got that outfit at Off Broadway Boutique because we don’t sell it! It’s still adorable, though.” – Lynn Dell
  • On Paris Hilton as Miley Cyrus: “It’s supposed to be sexy, but it doesn’t work.” – Lucille
  • On Julianne Hough as Crazy Eyes from Orange is the New Black: “She looks like she got a nice sunburn. It doesn’t look like blackface at all, though her hair does look Oriental.” – Lynn Dell
  • On Tara Reid: “She looks trashy, but it’s Halloween.” – Lynn Dell
  • On Snooki and JWoww as Alice in Wonderland: “It’s fun with a lot of character to it.” – Lucille
  • On Neil Patrick Harris and his family: “Very cute and precious.” – Lynn Dell
  • On Sandra Bullock as Day of the Dead: “Very wonderful.” – Lynn Dell
  • On Martha Stewart as a cat: “The best that I’ve seen so far, as it reminds me of a painting. Even better, she keeps in character.” – Lynn Dell
  • On the Sexy Pizza Costume: “We love it!” – Lynn Dell, Debra, and Lucille

The conversation winded down as Caitlyn asked the style experts about dressing up. Immediately jumping in, 87-year-old Lucille asserted that there was a misconception that one could not pull it off after a certain age. 80-year-old Lynn Dell then credited our good friend, Ari Seth Cohen, for being the one to showcase elder women as stylistas.  “Though anyone can be offended by a costume, it’s up to the one wearing the costume to make it wonderful,” she said. Her parting words: “Sexy is being able to live life and dress for the theatre of my life.”

Hi, everyone!  To say that we are very excited to see our Countess of Glamour’s star turn on television next month is an understatement, as we can’t wait for everyone to see her colorful personality! That’s right; on Wednesday, November 6th at 10PM, people will get to see Lynn Dell dish the dirt on dastardly deeds in Elder Skelter on the ID Channel!

Although she’d mentioned this project a few months ago, it all came full circle when she’d spent a magnificent day taping the true crime show along with fellow fashionista co-hosts, Joyce and Rita, at the famed Katz’s Delicatessen on the Lower East Side in August.  Catered to by everyone from the Katz’s staff – including the adorable manager, Jake – to the sensational Elder Skelter staff, Lynn Dell felt every bit of the queen that they meant to portray onscreen.

From Masha Gvozdov, the supremely talented makeup artist, to the production team that included Anna Snead, Mark Marabella, and Lori Siegel, everyone went above and beyond to ensure that this would be an experience that Lynn Dell would never forget.  Trading witty barbs while looking every inch the diva on camera was a fantastic way for the lengthy day to speed by quickly – as you can see from these candid shots below:

Needless to say, filming Elder Skelter was a way for our Countess of Glamour to fulfill her dream of being a screen star.  So enchanted were they with her flamboyant style and bold personality that the production team was wonderful enough to invite her to the wrap party along with our dear friend, Ari Seth Cohen, where she’d met the marvelous Broadway star, Kristin Chenoweth!

Hi, everyone!  Over the past few weeks, we at Off Broadway Boutique have been fortunate enough to meet many interesting people.  With our Countess of Glamour, Lynn Dell, making the rounds on television and in magazines, our profile has been rising considerably.  The best part is being able to meet a variety of lovely people who share our appreciation for glamour – such as the lovely Tamron Hall, who’d stopped by this past Saturday to see exactly why we’ve successfully sold style and elegance on the Upper West Side for over 50 years.

Just as beautiful and charming in person as she is onscreen, the NewsNation with Tamron Hall and Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall host immediately fell in love with Off Broadway Boutique’s brand of dramatic flair–from Lynn Dell’s undeniable charisma to the flamboyant Kenneth Jay Lane earrings that she’d ended up purchasing from us. Accompanied with her was her best friend, CEO of image consulting firm, Your Style, Your Image, Sylvia Christian, who looked absolutely fabulous after our fashion stylist extraordinaire, Pat, showed her the sartorial benefits of a gorgeous head wrap.

After trying on our unique fashions and stunning jewelry, both ladies bestowed nothing but praise on our collections–even choosing a few more pieces to splurge on.  Thrilled that they’d chosen to spend a part of their Saturday shopping expedition with Lynn Dell, she immediately extended an invitation to return at their leisure. Promising to do so while thanking us for such a lovely afternoon, Tamron and Sylvia bid us farewell as we mused at how fantastic they looked in the jewelry and fashions that they’d bought from us.

We definitely hope that Tamron had as much of a ball on her birthday yesterday as we did when she shopped at Off Broadway Boutique.
