Hello, everyone! It has been thrilling to see our good friend, Ari Seth Cohen, enjoy his success as a published author and Friday’s fabulous event proved to be just as exciting. He invited our Countess of Glamour, Lynn Dell, to his second signing of his acclaimed book, Advanced Style, at the National Arts Club. Located at 15 Gramercy Park South, it lent an elegant, gorgeous, and artsy vibe that complemented Ari’s theme of personal style advancing with age.
A wonderful time was had by all as Ari gave a lovely speech that was very true to his exuberant personality. Inviting every fashionable woman over 50 that were featured in the book – including Lynn herself – onstage along with him, he charmed everyone in attendance into purchasing every copy in stock. What’s more; Lynn’s chic outfit earned such praise from equally fashionable women that they vowed to visit Off Broadway Boutique as our newest customers. She, in turn, loved how every woman did their own thing by owning their individual sense of style with pride.
A highlight of Ari’s book signing party was Lynn reconnecting with Valerie and Jean, the authors of the glamorous style blog, Idiosyncratic Fashionistas. Though they have met before at various events – including Ari’s previous book signing at the New Museum – it was especially wonderful to see them adorned in identically stylish outfits. As they enjoyed each other’s company, Valerie and Jean were kind enough to photograph Lynn at the book signing.
Another high point was Lynn meeting the talented Leanna Valente for the first time, as the artist, personal shopper, and fashion blogger was very delightful to speak to. As she took pictures of Lynn, Leanna discussed the inspiration behind her wonderful blogs, Art and Fashion Salon, and Extreme Fashion Windows, as Lynn chatted about the pleasure of dressing for the theatre of one’s life.
A pleasant surprise was discovering that Dianne Bernhard, the president of the National Arts Club, shopped at Off Broadway Boutique last week. While our salesperson, Pat, assisted her with her shopping, we hadn’t discovered the identity of this lovely and beautiful new customer until we finally placed the name to the face. By the time Lynn finally met Ms. Bernhard at Ari’s book signing, she was doubly delighted to make the acquaintance of this dynamite lady.
Quite the fashion phenomenon, Advanced Style has been selling out so much at Off Broadway Boutique that we have had to reorder more copies. With many of our elegant customers giving the book rave reviews, we are happy to report that Ari will be crossing the pond today to kick off a two-week long book signing tour. We are confident that Europe will fall head over heels for this tome of fabulous fashion for women over 50.
