Our Magnificent Mushana Pieces are Marvelous!

Recently displayed at the Museum of Art and Design, we at Off Broadway Boutique have decided to add Mushana’s one-of-a-kind fashionable over 50 pieces to our Spring selection!

Mushana means sun in Uganda.

Women in Uganda and international designers work together under one sun to produce

products exclusive to Mushana.
Beads, fashion items, home accessories, art and jewelry are hand-crafted by villagers

from Uganda using recycled and local materials.
Recycled paper and glass, hand-woven bark cloth, and hand-painted cotton fabrics

are lovingly crafted into stunning home and fashion products.
Natural vegetable dyes, create a full color palette from soft neutrals to

rich, vibrant hues.
Mushana delivers one-of-a-kind products that allow consumers to

purchase with a purpose!

Angela Tucci Robinson’s generous spirit, combined with undaunted

hope, has given rise to Mushana, whose goal is to build a sustainable

life for communities in Uganda through handcrafted beads,

art, fabric and fashion accessories.

Angela became involved with Uganda in 2006, through a charitable

relationship with an orphanage and AIDS widow community.
Angela’s initial financial support for this village led her to the

development of Mushana.
As part of Mushana, Angela created “bead bonding” , linking the

artisans in Uganda with designers around the world.
By collaborating with these designers, Mushana is creating the

opportunity for a sustainable and dignified source of income for

these communities.

Angela has degrees in horticulture and floral design, and

experience in sales management, product development and buying.
Her other businesses include private label jewelry and fashion,

landscape/softscape design, and art curation/installation.

Angela believes that we can make a difference locally as

we reach globally by “working together under one sun.”

In his blog, Advanced Style, he showcases the most stylish and creative older Americans who are living life to the fullest and proving that elegance only gets better with age. “What I’ve learned about style is…you don’t stop being creative, you don’t stop being vital, you don’t stop being stylish at a certain age,” he says. “When I see an older woman who’s graceful and elegant, she wears her clothes with confidence and she really has a sense of who she is.”

Whether it’s donning a plush designer scarf or bringing new personality to a vintage dress, these off-the-street models are revealing that that fashion certainly doesn’t stop with age. My Generation tags along with the avant-garde photographer on his search for picture-perfect people.

It’s no surprise that the Countess of Glamour is on the fast track to being a icon for fashionable women over 50, for she possesses an ageless appeal that is the epitome of beauty!

In the interview, Dell reveals some of her personal style maxims, such as “We must dress everyday for the theater of our lives” and “Dress for yourself. If you are happy, you will make the world happy.” She also talks about the importance of scarves, the necessity of bright, bold color, and how much she just loves being a woman—particularly one in her late seventies. Have a look at the video after the jump, and we dare you to say you’re not inspired to throw on a giant hat or a big, gaudy necklace after hearing Lynn’s words of wisdom.
