We Love the Eighties…
Monday, February 23rd, 2009And so does Fashion Week! Most notably, Marc Jacobs, our favorite style compass dipped into the bottomless pool of eighties inspiration for Fall 2009. His collection hearkened back to New York’s “good old days,” a time when “getting dressed up was such a joy.” Many other designers have continued to adopt the trend, among them Chris Benz (neons), Preen (body con dresses), Charles Anastase (acid wash jeans), and Donna Karan (power suits perfected!). Even Hamish Bowles is having acid flashbacks!
The club scene isn’t what it used to be, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t wrap yourself in gorgeously sparkling and studded fabrics and embrace the power shoulder silhouette of a brasher, bolder era. We could all use some of that bravado these days…
